How do I store my kayak if I'm staying at a hotel?

Every hotel has different rules about storing kayaks, paddle boards, surfboards, etc. Some make accommodations for their guests, while others require guests to store equipment atop their car. In many, we know more about what options are available to you (we work with a lot of hotels) than the bell man or security guard at your hotel.
